Human Society and its Environment (HSIE)

This is an integrated HSIE, Science & Technology, English and Maths unit aligned to the NSW Board of Studies syllabus Stage 3 outcomes. This unit has been designed to be implemented over ten weeks (one school term) however, it is flexible enough to be shortened if required.

Through a study of the Mentawai Islands, their people and the work of SurfAid International, students will develop an understanding of their roles and responsibilities as global citizens and the interconnectedness between Australia and global environments.
