Health SOSE - Bzzz, What's that sound
The key idea of this resource is for students to accept increasing responsibility for their future well-being and analyse factors that support or present risks to their health and that of their families, friends and communities.
As with any unit that includes global issues, in addition to raising awareness, we also want to instigate some aspect of positive change that contributes to students becoming active global citizens.
At the end of this unit students will:
* Explains ways in which communities support their own and others health. (2.6 [F] [In] [KC2])
* Know the term malaria, what it is, where it is paramount and the associated health conditions.
* Understand practices that lesson the spread of malaria and identify organisations that play a significant role.
* Identify groups and communities who are most at risk and the associated health conditions.
* Further their understanding of good health practices that are sustainable and make changes if necessary that positively affect their own health.
