Global Issues - Malaria Sucks

Stimulating resources will encourage creativity, energy and confidence. Activities will be varied so the opportunities offered by new knowledge and technologies will benefit our country ultimately. Comparisons with our culture will strengthen self knowledge and enhance NZ’s Treaty commitments. Inquiry and philosophical discussion will further stimulate students into becoming confident, connected, actively involved and lifelong learners.

Some students will be able to compare and contrast extreme poverty with NZ and use knowledge of remote destinations as a base to make personal observations and opinions and evaluate their own place in NZ and the world. Connections across the world can be made using technology and active involvement could come in a range of activities from simulation to actual “Social Action”. Philosophical discussion encourages critical thinking and teaching tasks allow for creativity. Successful participation in a wide range of activities develops confidence in students who in turn become more resourceful and resilient.
